FKB’s Mike Furman spoke on the topic of “Competency in Area of Practice” at the New York State Bar Association CLE seminar “Risk Management 2014,” sponsored by the Law Practice and Management Committee. Mr. Furman was part of a experienced panel of speakers, including Marian Rice, Esq., Mark Anesh, Esq., Mike Mooney and Mark Housman, Esq. The topics covered at the seminar involved all areas of legal malpractice and law firm risk management, including competency in area of practice & insurance considerations, recognizing and handling conflicts of interest, proper new matter/client intake, effective client relations and resolving attorney-client disputes, and relations with others, including partners and non-clients.
