Izabell Lemkhen, born in Riga, Latvia, is a partner whose practice focuses on professional liability and insurance coverage. Ms. Lemkhen has successfully defended attorneys in high-profile and high-exposure malpractice lawsuits in state and federal courts arising from a wide range of complex legal areas including commercial litigation, real estate, medical malpractice, patent prosecution and infringement, as well as corporate and business matters. Ms. Lemkhen defends attorneys in all phases of litigation in state and federal court, and on appeal.
Ms. Lemkhen also serves as monitoring and coverage counsel to insurers on professional liability programs. Ms. Lemkhen has effectively managed high-volume claims and worked to develop litigation strategy to achieve quick, cost-efficient resolution.
Ms. Lemkhen has authored risk management material, been published in the New York Law Journal, and has participated in seminars and CLE courses on best practices to avoid legal malpractice claims.
Ms. Lemkhen graduated cum laude from New York University with a degree in Political Science, and Journalism and Mass Communication in 2005. In 2008, Ms. Lemkhen graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law. Ms. Lemkhen has been an attorney with Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP since 2010.
