Mike Gauvin is a partner whose practice focuses on insurance coverage and litigation. He advises insurers on complex coverage issues involving commercial general liability, professional liability, environmental liability, fine art and specie, jewelers block, and builder’s risk insurance policies.  He has successfully defended and prosecuted declaratory judgment actions in state and federal court.  He has also litigated complex commercial actions.

Before joining Furman Kornfeld & Brennan, LLP, Mike also practiced construction law at a litigation boutique in Providence, Rhode Island, where he advised general contractors, subcontractors, and property owners on a wide-range of construction law matters, including mechanics’ liens, surety bonds, and complex contract litigation.  His practice encompassed all stages of litigation from inception through trial before state courts and federal courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Mike earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School and his B.A. from Providence College.  He is admitted to practice in New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of Rhode Island, and the District of Massachusetts.
