Aaron M. Barham is a partner concentrating his practice on professional liability and legal malpractice defense. Since joining Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP in 2018, Aaron has represented lawyers, accountants, and other professionals in complex litigation, disciplinary proceedings, and high-exposure claims.
Aaron’s practice spans a broad range of underlying subject matters, including commercial litigation, securities, employment, real estate, insurance coverage, trusts and estates, and medical malpractice. He regularly advises insurers and insured professionals on risk management, liability exposure, and strategic resolution.
Aaron has been annually designated since 2019 as a Metro New York “Super Lawyer” in Professional Liability Defense. He is also a contributor and editor of the New York State Bar Association Legal Malpractice CLE course book and has authored multiple articles on professional liability and risk-management topics.
Aaron is also a frequent CLE presenter, speaking on professional liability, legal ethics, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in legal practice. His recent programs have focused on malpractice avoidance, risk management, and AI-related ethical considerations for litigators.
Aaron is a proud alumnus of the University of Virginia and St. John’s University School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and served as Symposium Editor for the Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development. Prior to joining FKB, Aaron practiced at a New York City defense firm representing hospitals and healthcare professionals in complex medical malpractice litigation.
Since 2019, Aaron has been annually selected for the Super Lawyers New York Metro Rising Stars list, which recognizes the top 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state.
